Back in the early dot-com days, I launched a kids' browser. A safe online space with curated tabs where kids could explore animals or space without ever leaving a trusted environment. We had kids' TV, vetted websites, a whole system built for learning through curiosity, long before "kid-safe platforms" were mainstream.
But like many ideas ahead of their time, it never took off. Schools weren't ready. Funding fell through. The project was shelved.
Fast forward twenty years, and not much had changed. Most of what's out there still feels outdated, overwhelming, or cluttered.
I have nieces, nephews, and friends with young kids, and I kept hearing the same thing: "There's just no space online where I can feel good about what my kid is clicking on."
So I decided to try again, but this time, to build the kind of learning platform I couldn't find anywhere else.
Kid's Portal is ad-free on purpose. Every video, game, story, and printable is curated by hand. When I realized there weren't enough safe websites to recommend, I started making our own content. Content that's both educational and genuinely fun. Content made for kids, not just adapted to them.
